I was inspired to do this piece after seeing a video featuring an angry gulf coast resident reading an open letter to Sarah Palin. A letter she wrote after hearing Palin still chanting "drill baby drill" even after the horrible BP disaster.

Sarah Palin wouldn't know a fact if it slapped her upside the head with a bowl full of Moose Chunk Stew.
And how could you honestly refer to that woman as a "person of reason"? Any objective observer can plainly see that she does not portrait herself to the public as a person of reason but rather a person of immense faith and incredulity.
You are clearly lacking the ability to discern between arguments that appeal to emotion, such as saying things like "death panels!" and "communism!" and arguments that appeal to logic and reason by instead siting the facts and statistics that have lead you to your position.
This is not a "Republican" vs "Democrat" issue, as guys like Kieth Olbermann and that "Ed Show" character are also good examples of those who engage in much the same tactics although, there is almost no one in the media today or indeed in recent memory who sidesteps logic and reason to instead appeal to the irrational and emotional side of the human condition more so than Sarah Palin.
